We have opportunities to work in our Child & Family team which involves some days working from our Manly office and opportunities in our Schools and Early Years team where staff can work from our Manly office or from home anywhere within Australia.

This position is responsible for the provision of evidence-informed, culturally responsive occupational therapy services to the children and families referred to Royal Far West. The role includes assessment, formulation, intervention and discharge planning in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

There is a continuum of skills and experience within the occupational therapists employed by Royal Far West. Clinicians ideally demonstrate a level of practice characterised by expert clinical skills, reasoning, critical thinking, knowledge, and experience with service provision to meet complex client needs within contemporary practice.

Within the supportive multidisciplinary team and OT discipline community, you will have access to regular clinical supervision, professional development opportunities, with a range of supported career development pathways and opportunities in clinical, leadership, supervision, education, safety and quality and research.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE ARE

Essential Criteria

•Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy, and current AHPRA registration and a minimum of 3 years’ experience.

•Demonstrated experience working in the core components of paediatric Occupational Therapy i.e regulation, sensory processing, motor skills, self care skills, play and social skills. This includes caseload management for children range of needs such as disability and/or complex developmental, social-emotional, learning and behavioural challenges.

•Exhibits high quality written and verbal communication skills including report writing, file notes, communicating with children, carers, teachers and colleagues.

•Knowledge of Child Safe practices including, but not limited to, Child Protection legislation, policy and procedures.

•Demonstrated understanding of family-centred and strengths-based care

•Complies with Mandatory Employment Screening Checks Policy and Workforce Immunisation Policy.

•Commitment to diverse and inclusive practices. Demonstrated understanding of the issues faced by CALD and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities within the context of health and family wellbeing. Ability to communicate effectively with people across cultures, ranges of ability, genders, ethnicities and races and successfully deliver culturally responsive services.

•Highly developed computer skills including use of programs such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom, and experience delivering services via telehealth.
