Community Housing Central Australia (CHCA) is an Aboriginal controlled, not-for-profit, Tier 2 registered community housing provider (CHP) based in Alice Springs, Northern Territory.
Established by the Tangentyere Council in 2009 as an independent company, their mission is to improve people’s lives by providing safe and affordable homes, with a key focus on addressing the housing problems faced by many Aboriginal people in the Northern Territory. CHCA currently manage over 600 social and affordable housing homes including those within the Alice Springs Town Camps and have ambitious growth plans with a number of new development projects underway.
As the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the operations of CHCA’s financial functions, which supports the organisation to meet its strategic goals.
As part of the leadership team, you will ensure a best practice policy and have demonstrated knowledge drawn from both your tertiary study in either accounting or commerce and have extensive experience working at or around this level in a similar role that enables the provision of authoritative advice in the areas of your role responsibilities.
The successful candidate will have an impressive track record and proficiency managing an organisation’s statutory accounts and management accounting recording and reporting. The position is responsible for the financial management of the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers including all budget input processes.
In addition, you will have highly developed communication and analytical skills and proficient knowledge of business processes, systems and products and the ability to develop and implement relevant policies and procedures to meet the needs of the organisation.
You will hold a tertiary qualification in finance or accounting and have high level financial literacy with the ability to prepare and interpret financial reports and manage budgets, along with experience in all aspects of organisational Financial Management. Candidates with a current CPA or CA membership will be held in high regard.
