We’re looking for a DevOps Engineer to take our cloud infrastructure to the next level - smarter, faster, leaner. You’ll work closely with Product and Engineering teams to build scalable systems, improve reliability, and drive down costs through smart automation and AWS best practices.

In this role you will:

Design, implement, and maintain secure, highly available, and scalable infrastructure on AWS.

Optimise our use of AWS services to reduce costs while ensuring reliability and performance.

Automate infrastructure deployment and management using tools like Terraform, Buildkite and CDK (TypeScript).

Develop and refine monitoring, alerting, and incident response practices to uphold system health.

Conduct performance analysis and capacity planning to proactively address scaling challenges.

Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure releases are built for cloud efficiency, scale and resilience.

Continuously evaluate and implement tools and practices that improve platform operations.

Champion continuous improvement in DevOps practices, cloud spend analysis, and technical operations.

Our dream candidate has:

Hands-on experience managing large-scale AWS environments, with a strong focus on cost optimisation and operational efficiency.

A solid background in DevOps, Software Engineering, and cloud architecture, ideally within a medium to large enterprise.

A strong engineering toolkit that includes AWS CDK (TypeScript), GitHub or Bitbucket, Buildkite (or equivalent CI/CD tools), Terraform, containerisation, shell scripting, and Python.

Experience with implementing cost optimisation strategies such as rightsizing, reserved instances, autoscaling, and storage tiering.

A proactive mindset, capable of managing multiple priorities and delivering practical, long-term solutions.

Excellent stakeholder engagement skills – you make complex ideas easy to understand and turn them into actionable outcomes.

Natural problem-solving skills, balancing short-term urgency with long-term architectural thinking.

The ability to work independently – you're self-motivated, take ownership, and know when to ask questions and when to take initiative.

You’ll get bonus points if you have:

Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Familiarity with workforce management, HR, or payroll systems.

Experience working in high-growth SaaS companies.

AWS Professional or Associate Certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer).
