Remuneration: AHP2 $88,255 - $102,240 p.a. + 11.5% Superannuation.

Join us at the Department for Child Protection's Berri office as we grow our team with experienced professionals committed to protecting and supporting vulnerable children and families.
We're looking for a skilled Senior Social Worker who can confidently manage complex cases within a care and protection framework, using solution-based approaches that prioritise the safety and wellbeing of children.
In this role, you will:
Undertake complex case work and case management with increased autonomy and advanced competency.
Conduct detailed, child-centred investigations and assessments focused on safety and family support.
Prepare clear, concise written and verbal reports grounded in thorough evidence analysis and including providing testimony in court proceedings.
Identify key factors affecting family functioning and work collaboratively to support safe and effective care for children.
Apply your understanding of child development, parenting capacity, and environmental factors to tailor interventions for individual children.
To be successful:
You have strong knowledge of child development, vulnerability, and resilience. You can clarify complex situations, act impartially, and use negotiation skills to resolve conflicts and find practical solutions.
You communicate clearly, producing concise reports and confidently giving evidence in court. You support colleagues' growth by applying Social Work methods that promote critical thinking and reflection.

Essential Qualifications:
Persons of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, who have the appropriate background and skills but do not have the essential qualification, may apply for and be engaged/assigned to the role of Social Worker and will be entitled to apply for any Allied Health Professional roles requiring a qualification in Social Work within the Department for Child Protection (DCP).
