About you
Our ideal candidates embody lived experience (peer) values, offering deep empathy, trust and non-judgemental support to visitors to the centre. Peers at the centre build strong compassionate connections, walking alongside a person as they are empowered to take charge of their own care and recovery. Within this team, peers will collaborate closely with clinicians to ensure holistic care with the person’s whole self (inclusive of identity and culture) at the centre.
This is a lived experience designated role open only to people who have a personal experience of mental health challenges, service use and periods of healing/personal recovery.
For this centre we are looking to build a diverse workforce filled with people from unique backgrounds, who have had different experiences, and come from non-dominant cultures. First Nations people, LGBTQIA+ and culturally and linguistically diverse people are encouraged to apply. We want our workforce to reflect the communities our visitors come from, in a way that is equitable.
