We are seeking two experienced Clinical Nurses to join our Residential team on a part-time basis. You will be part of a dedicated team of four, working a roster that includes either morning or afternoon shifts and one weekend per fortnight ensuring consistent high-quality care for our residents. There will also be the opportunity to pick up additional shifts for leave cover as required.
The morning shift works 7am – 3.06pm and the afternoon shift works 2:24pm – 22.30pm with afternoon and weekend shifts attracting penalty rates.
There are 11 shifts available in total and these will be divided between the two successful applicants as outlined below to enable a work/life balance to be achievable.
Position 1 - AM shifts:
Week 1 - Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Week 2 - Monday, Tuesday
Position 2 - PM shifts
Weeks 1 - Monday, Tuesday
Week 2 - Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday
About the Role:
The role requires an experienced Clinical Nurse and is responsible for the following:
- Lead and support a multidisciplinary team and take responsibility to oversee all clinical care delivered by the residential team to ensure resident needs are met in a timely manner and meet legislative, best practice standards and person centred care, organisational standards and have a customer focus.
- Collaborate with residents, families and allied health professionals and ensure compliance with the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards and best practices.
- Responsible for ensuring that all clinical services are appropriate and reviewed to achieve continuous improvement and meet accreditation and legislative requirements.
- Co-ordinate, lead and monitor care plan creation for residents ensuring that they are comprehensive, appropriate and are always adhered to.
- Review of assessment of incidents, complaints, risks or issues that arise in the residential clinical care area, managing them in a consistent and appropriate manner.
- Support the Clinical Care Managers to address residents’ clinical feedback and conduct meetings to ensure needs are met and responded to in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Support the Clinical Care Managers in the completion of case conferencing including monitoring of appropriate attendees and correct process is adhered to.
- Support the training, mentoring and professional development of staff.
- Support and lead teams through critical events.
Requirements:
The successful candidate must possess:
- Registered Nurse in an aged care setting with AHPRA registration
- Extensive clinical experience in aged care, preferably in a residential aged care setting.
- Previous leadership experience in a care team setting
- Excellent Communication skills both Verbal and written
- National Police Clearance, less than 6 months old
- Evidence of COVID and Flu Vaccinations (highly recommended)
