About the Opportunity
IFYS Project Paradigm is seeking a Project Officer – Child Sexual Abuse Prevention for a full-time, fixed-term role. This position supports a national strategy focused on prevention, early intervention, and community capacity building to protect children and young people from exploitation.
Reporting to the Principal Advisor – CSE, you’ll contribute to research, consultation submissions, and the development of practice guidance, training, and resources for state-wide and national use. The role requires a strong understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, and ideally, a background in social work or child protection frameworks.

Key responsibilities:
- Develop and implement frameworks and resources to support staff, volunteers, and carers in responding to child sexual abuse (CSA)
- Contribute to research and submissions for government consultations, funding tenders, and sector initiatives
- Support the design and delivery of a national training package and awareness campaigns on child sexual exploitation (CSE)
- Work closely with the Principal Advisor – CSE to provide specialist advice, contribute to case reviews, and shape policy and program materials
- Report on project activities and advocate across the sector to strengthen responses to CSE through collaboration, communities of practice, and continuous improvement
Skills and requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a human services related discipline
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience developing and implementing child protection related projects, practice and policy frameworks
- Sound knowledge of safeguarding practices and social work theory
- Project management skills and an ability to translate vision into action
- Experience contributing to the writing of government submissions, tenders and grants
- Demonstrated ability to deliver presentations and training to a variety of audiences in professional and public settings
- Ability to travel interstate occasionally as the role requires
Must hold or be willing to provide or obtain if successful:
- QLD Drivers License with a clear traffic history
- QLD Working with Children Check (Paid Blue Card)
- Licensed Care Suitability Check (LCS2)
- National Crime Check (A new check will be completed through IFYS systems)
- Ability to provide two recent line manager references including your current employer
