We are seeking a kind, experienced, and playful professional to support our bright and inquisitive 5-year-old son in our home in Yarralumla, Canberra and on local after-school outings. He is neurodiverse (Level 1 Autism) and thrives with gentle structure, attuned communication, and hands-on learning that taps into his natural curiosity. He’s deeply engaged when supported through his interests, and we’re looking for someone who can nurture his social, emotional, academic and sensory/interoceptive development in ways that celebrate his strengths and foster confidence and connection.

This role is ideal for someone with a background in early childhood education with experience supporting neurodiverse children, occupational therapy or speech pathology. Please reach out if you are unsure of fit but interested to explore.

Location: Yarralumla, Canberra

Hours: Approx. 10 - 15 hours/week (12:30pm–4:30pm, 3 afternoons per week, although we're flexible on hours and days of the week)

Start Date: Flexible, ideally in the coming weeks

Employment Type: Direct hire by the family

Pay: $90 - $140 depending on experience and fit

What We’re Looking For:

- Experience working with neurodiverse children (ASD/ADHD)
- Neuroaffirming and passionate about this transformative work
- Background in occupational therapy, speech pathology, special education, or similar
- Ability to support social communication, emotional regulation, and sensory integration through play
- Reliable, calm, and compassionate
