About the role
This role will establish, engage and maintain place-based suicide prevention collaboratives across the region, in line with the Ministry of Healths, Primary Health Network (PHN)-Led Model for NSW Community Collaboratives. These collaboratives will empower communities to come together as key decision-makers on local suicide prevention activities and grants.
The primary purpose of this position is to support the establishment and/or maintenance of the current Suicide Prevention Collaboratives, located in the Central Coast, Upper Hunter and Tamworth regions. This includes providing project support to build the foundations and capacity of the Collaborative members to adopt a collective impact and place-based approach to the implementation of systems-based suicide prevention in their communities.
This role will also support the Suicide Prevention Lead across a range of suicide prevention projects, including program management, stakeholder engagement, and grant management.
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven track record in stakeholder engagement, ongoing coordination including an ability to build relationships and supportive partnerships with community leaders and networks, and other stakeholders including Local Hospital Networks, government and non-government organisations.
- Project management experience in a health or wellbeing-related project/program, coordinating resources and meeting reporting requirements to ensure project outcomes are achieved.
- Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience in, the suicide prevention sector and local suicide prevention activities, collaboratives and working groups and suicide prevention and the mental health service sector within the region.
- Well-developed data analytical and problem-solving skills, including good data collection, analytical and reporting skills to monitor and review activities, measure outcomes and identify trends.
- Undertake and manage grant applications, milestone reporting and monitoring practices through PHN grant system.

Additional Information
*PHN's have been funded by the Department of Health since 2015. All roles at our PHN are maximum-term and linked to our funding contracts with the Department of Health. This is a maximum term contract until 30 June 2026 and any contract extensions are dependent on ongoing funding.
**Salary: This role is classified as F - J within our Enterprise Agreement and the rate will be dependent on skills and experience/qualifications. New appointments are generally offered between grade F - H.
