About JOURNEY
We’re a vibrant team of Allied Health professionals providing specialist assessments and interventions to support Melbournians to do more of what they want to do and less of what they don't. Our multidisciplinary team support adults and children and focus on creating a better life for people who are autistic, have mental health challenges, or other developmental disabilities. We get complexity and know how to work with individuals, families and systems to create opportunities and achieve real change. Our work is seriously interesting and seriously rewarding. We love what we do and have the leadership, skills and drive to ensure all our clients and our team achieve their greatest potential. At JOURNEY our work is firmly grounded in evidence-based, trauma-informed and neuro-affirming practices. We’re also serious about ethics and maintain the highest standards in sensitive, inclusive and ethical approaches.
Your new role
Following a full and comprehensive orientation and induction, you will be supported to begin to gradually increase your client work with a variety of assessment and intervention work. Depending on your skill set and interests, assessments you complete may include Functional Capacity Assessments (FCAs), Sensory Assessments and home and living assessments. You will also design and implement interventions such as creating sensory diets, social stories, developing emotion regulation strategies and building daily living skills. Part of the position will involve working with other professionals to coach families and support staff to implement recommended strategies. You may work across a range of settings; such as our beautiful clinic rooms and onsite sensory room, or see clients out in the community, visiting family homes, supported accommodation and other programs. Along the way you will be supported by the OT Team Leader, Clinical Director and other members of the leadership team to further develop skills in specific areas, covering both your clinical skills and overall development as a professional. You will also collaborate regularly with your fellow colleagues to share knowledge, gain support and provide secondary consultation where required.

A high level of written and oral communication skills, including proficient report writing
Experience working in the NDIS space desirable but not essential
Team spirit and desire to be part of a highly collaborative and supportive team culture
