About the role:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Weighbridge / Cashier Operator to manage the weighing and documentation of incoming and outgoing materials using Scrapit and ServiceM8 software. This role is also responsible for handling cash transactions accurately and professionally. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a customer-first attitude, and a solid understanding of weights, measures, and recycling operations.

Key Responsibilities

Operate the weighbridge to record weights of vehicles delivering or collecting materials.

Enter accurate data into Scrapit and ServiceM8 systems for transaction and logistics tracking.

Handle and reconcile cash payments for materials in accordance with company procedures.

Greet and assist customers in a courteous and efficient manner.

Verify materials and complete all relevant paperwork and digital forms.

Ensure compliance with relevant safety and environmental regulations.

Maintain cleanliness and functionality of the weighbridge area.

Collaborate with yard staff to coordinate efficient vehicle movement and unloading.

About you:

As a motivated and experienced Weighbridge Operator, you will have expert attention to detail and a willingness to adapt within a fast-paced environment. Your positive attitude and ability to forward think is highly regarded, along with:

Prior experience in a similar role within the recycling or transport industry preferred.

Proficient in using Scrapit and ServiceM8 software (or similar).

Strong numeracy and attention to detail.

Proven experience with cash handling and basic financial reconciliation.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Basic computer literacy (MS Office, email, cloud-based systems).

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

High school certificate or equivalent.

Certificate or E-Learning - Weighbridge Operator or prior accreditation from NMI

Valid driver's license preferred.

Forklift license (advantageous but not essential).
