Who we are
Mangrove Housing is a Community Housing Provider and registered charity / not-for-profit that offers individually tailored services and supports to over 1,200 people in need each year. We have been assisting South East Queensland communities find affordable housing through the delivery of homes and person-centred support services for 30 years.
Mangrove Housing operates alongside its 2 subsidiary companies; Mangrove Maintenance and Cleaning and Mangrove Realty, to form Mangrove Group.
We operate out of our Head Office at Murarrie with local offices at Cleveland and Beenleigh.
The Role
We are looking for a motivated and driven Assistant Accountant to join our dynamic team at Mangrove Housing.
This is a permanent, part-time position (circa 25 hours) based at our Murarrie Head Office, however travel between our 3 offices is required from time to time.

What you'll be doing
Reporting to the Finance Team Leader, your duties will include but are not limited to:
Accounts Payable functions including invoice and work order matching, approval confirmation, processing, payment preparation and subsequent reconciliation
Accounts Receivable functions such as bank reconciliations, sales invoice generation and debt collection
End to end Visa Debit Card account reconciliation using Prospend, matching high volume of transactions with receipts, following up with other departments, and monthly reconciliation
Assist with the Mangrove Group end of month processes and preparation of Balance Sheet Reconciliations
Preparing Grant Acquittal information
Perform any other duties as required by Finance Team Leader or CFO
Perform any adhoc support and assistance to Service Delivery Team as required.
Provide back-up cover to team members (annual leave cover)
What we’re looking for
The successful applicant will have a sound knowledge base in accounting functions, excellent communication skills, and a flexible attitude. They will have a willingness to complete role specific training.
Industry specific experience or worked experience in a similar role is advantageous.
Practical experience working in any of the following systems MYOB, ProSpend, PropertyMe or similar would be advantageous.
