Our client, a global leader in renewable energy technology, is offering a unique opportunity to lead the delivery of major wind farm construction projects across Australia.

We are seeking a Project Director to oversee large-scale onshore wind projects, supporting the full lifecycle from early bid phase through to construction, commissioning, and handover. As part of the senior operations leadership team, you’ll lead multidisciplinary teams and interface with key customers, stakeholders, and project partners.

This role is based in Melbourne, supporting projects across multiple states and territories. Experience working with an OEM and in the wind energy sector is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Engage early with Sales to scope and support project bids and feasibility

Lead the planning and execution of wind farm construction projects across Australia

Manage customer relationships as the senior point of contact throughout the project lifecycle

Oversee project execution to ensure on-time, on-budget, and in-scope delivery

Develop and implement best-practice project and construction management tools and controls

Identify, assess, and manage risks, applying mitigation strategies as required

Monitor performance through KPIs, cost tracking, progress reporting, and variance analysis

Lead site teams and manage all construction resources across the portfolio

Ensure compliance with OH&S, environmental, and corporate standards

Guide transition from construction to service operations with internal handover processes

Foster cross-functional collaboration to drive successful delivery across departments

What You’ll Need to Succeed

Experience as a Project Director or Senior Project Manager on Wind Farm projects in Australia

Proven track record delivering onshore or offshore wind farm projects

Prior experience with an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) is mandatory

Strong commercial acumen, stakeholder management, and leadership skills

Deep understanding of project lifecycles and construction methodologies in the energy sector

Excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making abilities

Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification

Willingness to travel to project sites across Australia as required
