Osborne Richardson continue to bring exceptional Compliance and Animal Management roles to the market all over Australia and we are incredibly excited about a great new Animal Management Officer role in one of Eastern Melbourne's local councils.
We are looking for a Ranger/Animal Management Officer to commence ASAP, for a period of 2 - 3 months.
As a Ranger/Animal Management Officer, no day will be the same. A typical day includes duties and responsibilities such as:
- Providing guidance, advice and assistance to residents, ratepayers and visitors in relation to compliance matters.
- Conducting prompt response and timely investigation into complaints received including appropriate customer feedback.
- Planning time effectively and actively patrolling the municipal district as rostered or required to ensure compliance with the legislation, issuing notices where necessary in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Accurately recording and submitting all activities daily, and updating council systems on a task by task basis.
- Reporting on all equipment, signage and other infrastructure that requires attention or does not comply with safety standards or legislation.
- Conducting inspections and audits of animal related facilities and restricted breed premises and other tasks relating to the Act and Council’s Animal Management Plan.
- Collecting animals and transporting them to local pound.
- Provision of information and advice to customers regarding all aspects of the Local Laws and relevant Government legislation relating to this role.
- Making recommendations regarding destruction of sick/injured stock and/or wildlife.
To be successful in this role, we are looking for people who meet the following criteria:
- Certificate IV in Statutory Compliance (Government) and Animal Control and Regulation with relevant experience or substantial experience working in law enforcement environment and animal control/management.
- Current valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
- Current Working with Children check.
