What’s the role?
This is an exciting opportunity to join News Corp Australia as a Payroll Officer on a 8-month contract, based in Surry Hills, close to Central Station. As part of one of the nation’s most influential media organisations, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our diverse workforce. In this dynamic position, you’ll have the chance to work closely with a collaborative team, tackling payroll processing, employee inquiries, and regulatory compliance, all while supporting key payroll system updates and large-scale projects. In this role you will:
- Assist in the timely and accurate processing of payroll, ensuring employee records are up-to-date and payroll calculations are correct.
- Handle employee inquiries related to pay, deductions, and taxes, providing excellent customer service and support.
- Support payroll system maintenance and updates, contributing to smooth and efficient operations.
- Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure accurate employee data management and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to large-scale payroll projects, including assisting with the preparation of payroll reports and tax filings.
Who are you?
- You have 1-2 years of previous payroll experience, ideally in a large corporate environment, and are familiar with payroll processes.
- You possess strong proficiency in Excel and are technologically savvy, with the ability to quickly learn new payroll systems.
- You are detail-oriented, proactive, and highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
- You have excellent customer service skills, able to respond to employee inquiries with professionalism and empathy.
- You demonstrate strong initiative, adaptability, and a willingness to take on new challenges, contributing positively to the team and organisation.
