Position Title: Communications and Engagement Officer
Employment Type: Labour hire
Location: Canberra, ACT
Hourly rate: $66.10 - $75.16 per hour plus 12% superannuation
Working Arrangements: Flexible working arrangements available (1-2 days in office per week, subject to workload)

ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic communications generalist to support project-related communications and engagement activities. In this diverse and fast-paced role, you could be writing a media release one day, assisting with community engagement events the next, and creating compelling digital content the following. You will bring an audience-first lens to your work, informed by research and insights, and thrive in a collaborative, dynamic environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with planning and implementing communication strategies and campaigns
  
  
• Write and curate engaging written and digital content for websites, social media, and newsletters
  
  
• Respond to media enquiries and assist in the preparation of media materials and reports
  
  
• Support coordination of events, displays, and community engagement activities
  
  
• Collaborate with stakeholders across government to deliver effective communications
  
  

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Experience in communications, media or public relations
  
  
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities and deadlines across projects
  
  
• Strong writing and editing skills tailored to a range of audiences and channels
  
  
• Ability to innovate, take initiative, and adapt in a complex and fast-paced environment
  
  
• Demonstrated collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills
  
  
• Tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, media, or related fields
  
  
• Minimum 3 years' experience in professional communications roles
  
  
• Flexibility to support occasional out-of-hours activities

ELIGIBILITY

• Australian citizenship or Permanent Residency is required at time of application.

• Must be wiling to undergo a police check.
