About the role
This is an ongoing permanent full time position.
The main focus of this position is to provide high-quality, professional training and assessment in the MSF20522 Certificate II in Furniture Making Pathways qualification.
You will guide and support students as they develop foundational skills in furniture construction, joinery, and cabinet making, with a strong emphasis on workshop safety, accurate measurement, tool handling, and project-based learning.
In addition to delivering structured training sessions, you will oversee students during workshop activities, ensuring safe and efficient use of equipment, materials, and workspaces. You’ll also assist in managing workshop operations, preparing materials, and maintaining compliance with WHS and industry standards.
Essential Criteria:
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent)
Relevant qualifications in furnishing, cabinet making, or related field (Minimum Certificate III)
Recent and relevant industry experience in furniture making or related areas (Minimum 3 years)
Working with Children Check
Commitment to WHS and safe workshop practices
Highly Desirable: Successful completion of Course in Safe Use of Machinery for Technology Teaching (22623VIC); or willingness to attain.
Essential Experience:
Experience working with youth or delivering VET programs in schools
Essential Personal Skills:
Great communication skills to interface with the various stakeholders, which include workplace colleagues, Secondary education students, management and restaurant customers.
Organisational skills to manage your own work diary – ensuring reliability and punctuality
Ability to work closely with and report to RTO management.

Salary will be based on the CEMEA 2022. The level and subdivision of the successful candidate will be negotiated based on experience, qualifications and previous industry experience.
