Our client is a global leader in industrial coating resins from interior coatings for airplanes and scratch-resistant coatings for smartphones to corrosion protection for cars including printing inks for glossy magazines. Due to increase in demand they are looking for a Maintenance Fitter on day shift to join their team on an ongoing basis.

Working hours:
Day shift: 6.00am to 2:00pm or 6:30am to 2:30pm
Monday to Friday

What will you be doing?
Reporting into the Engineering Manager and working on Day shift, the key responsibilities of the role will include but are not limited to:

• Carrying out both preventative and breakdown maintenance of the manufacturing plant and plant equipment
• Undertaking improvements and modifications when required
• Perform MIG, TIG and some Electric Arc Welding as required
• Be responsible for the assembly and fabrication of pump sets, and other associated equipment
• Work within a permit to work system and in compliance with site safety regulations
• Be responsible for the safe and legal operation of equipment and wearing safety PPE supplied
• Liaise with relevant personal to ensure that all activities are conducted accurately and where problems arise they are resolved promptly

What do you need?

• Mechanical trade Certificate
• Must be Australian resident
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in chemical or similar industries process plant maintenance
• Must have welding experience - MIG, TIG and Arc welding
• Comfortable working autonomously as well as in a team environment
• Ability to work independently, handle multiple complex tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Mechanical aptitude and strong commitment to work
• Commitment to Safety, Occupational Health, Environment and Quality principles and practices.
• Forklift license is desirable
• Pump maintenance experience is desirable
• Experience with compressors and pneumatics is desirable
• Confined space entry certificate is desirable
