Job Type: Full-Time (38 hr week) (Trading hours; Monday – Sunday 6:30am – 2:30pm)

Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Retail Manager to oversee daily operations at our bustling bakery retail offering. The Retail Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the store, ensuring excellent customer service, driving sales, and managing a team to achieve business objectives. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, understanding or a commitment to mastering hospitality technology used across the business and a focus on achieving sales targets while maintaining an exceptional experience for customers.
Key Responsibilities
Store Operations & Sales Performance
Oversee and manage all store operations, including inventory management, merchandising, and loss prevention.
Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and improve profitability.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure sales targets and operational goals are met and report to owners.
Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and health & safety standards.
Deciding on the product assortment, managing inventory levels, and setting service standards.
Work with marketing to promoting and advertising the store's products and services.
Selling products and services to customers and providing them with usage advice.
Keeping track of inventory levels and financial transactions.
Customer Service & Experience
Ensure the delivery of outstanding customer service, fostering a positive shopping experience.
Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.
Train and develop staff to maintain high customer service standards.
Team Leadership & Development
Recruit, train, and mentor retail staff, ensuring a high-performing team.
Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and implement staff development initiatives.
Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that motivates employees.
Ensuring adherence to occupational health and safety regulations.
Financial Management & Reporting
Manage budgets, expenses, and financial transactions within the store.
Analyse sales data, prepare reports, and present findings to senior management.
Implement cost-control measures and optimize resource allocation.
Marketing & Promotions
Develop and execute store promotions, discounts, and events to attract customers.
Collaborate with the marketing team to implement in-store campaigns and social media promotions.
Maintain store visual standards to align with brand guidelines.
Developing and executing purchasing and marketing strategies, as well as determining pricing
Qualifications & Skills
Proven experience as a Retail Manager or in a similar leadership role.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Sales-driven mindset with a customer-focused approach.
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in retail management software and financial reporting (experience with Xero)
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
· Experience with point of sales and payment systems technology (preferably Lightspeed and Me&U) and other hospitality technology (Deputy for Rostering).
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, retail management, or a related field.
Experience in Hospitality (especially managing people).
