About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team, based in either Townsville or Brisbane, with an immediate start available. Reporting to the Principal Mechanical Engineer, this role offers exposure to a diverse range of projects including mechanical design, project delivery, and risk management, with regular site-based engagement.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Executing projects to our exacting standards and client expectations.

Managing project resources, schedules, and budgets to ensure successful, timely outcomes.

Liaising with clients, suppliers, and project partners in a professional and solutions-oriented manner.

Mentoring and guiding junior engineers as a technical and professional leader.

Driving adherence to internal design standards, quality assurance protocols, and workflow systems.

We offer a flexible working structure, including support for 9-day fortnights and remuneration for all hours worked.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 5 years’ professional experience in Australia.

Experience with heavy industrial plant and machinery.

Experience with maintenance strategies and other maintenance systems.

Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.

Proven project management capabilities and strong commercial awareness.

A proactive, flexible attitude, combined with a good sense of humour and a team-first approach.

Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal, across technical and client-facing contexts.

Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on engineering design and system improvement.

Excellent time management and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

A high level of attention to detail, especially when reviewing specifications and final outputs.

Desirable: Previous experience in site-based engineering roles within mining or heavy industry.
