Position Overview:

The Curriculum & Learning Coordinator is responsible for leading the educational direction, curriculum quality, and instructional standards across the school. In 2025, this role will oversee three classroom teachers, with scope to support five to six classrooms in 2026 as the school expands.

The Coordinator provides professional guidance to teaching staff, ensuring the consistent delivery of the CAMP life skills curriculum in alignment with student goals and Individualised Education Plans (IEPs). Key responsibilities include overseeing Seesaw documentation, ensuring IEP alignment, facilitating staff development, and monitoring student progress.

Working closely with the leadership team, the Curriculum & Learning Coordinator plays a critical role in evaluating and embedding best practices in special education, with a focus on continuous improvement and high-quality outcomes for all students.

Oversees: Classroom Teachers, Curriculum Planning, Instructional Quality, Student Learning Progress, IEP Compliance, Seesaw Documentation

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Educational Leadership

· Drive the implementation and evolution of a life skills-focused curriculum.

· Lead pedagogical decisions to ensure high-quality, person-centred teaching.

· Provide instructional leadership through regular coaching, walkthroughs, and team collaboration.

2. Curriculum Planning & Implementation

· Ensure that each classroom’s weekly and term planning reflects IEP goals, curriculum

· outcomes, and differentiated instruction.

· Review, refine, and standardise teaching strategies across classrooms to maintain consistency.

· Support teachers with lesson sequencing, visual supports, task design, and skills-based scaffolding.

3. Individualised Learning & IEP Oversight

· Lead and review the creation and maintenance of Individualised Education Plans (IEPs).

· Ensure student goals are SMART, functional, and embedded into the daily schedule.

· Support teachers in tracking, evidencing, and reporting progress toward IEP outcomes.

4. Seesaw & Parent Engagement Oversight

· Monitor Seesaw daily to ensure accurate, timely, and meaningful content is shared.

· Review Seesaw parent communication and support teachers with complex or sensitive responses.

· Ensure learning posts align with both curriculum goals and individualised student plans.

5. Behaviour Support Within Instruction

· Embed positive behaviour strategies within instructional frameworks.

· Collaborate with the Program Operations Manager to respond to behaviour data and support needs.

· Coach staff in proactive behaviour practices, social-emotional instruction, and student regulation strategies.

6. Teacher Induction & Professional Development

· Lead induction processes for all new teachers and casuals.

· Deliver structured professional development sessions (weekly/termly).

· Provide real-time coaching and feedback aligned with teaching standards and individual growth plans.

7. Progress Monitoring & Data Review

· Track learning progress across the school using consistent metrics.

· Lead data reviews to identify trends, barriers, and student needs.

· Use data to guide planning, resource allocation, and staff support.

8. Organisational Collaboration

· Work closely with the Program Operations Manager to align operational and instructional efforts.

· Communicate updates to the Director regularly on educational progress, risks, and strategic improvements.

· Participate in leadership planning, student reviews, and team development initiatives.
