About the Role

Cape York NRM is seeking a dedicated and passionate Sustainable Agriculture Facilitator (SAF). The SAF will be a designated central contact point for farmers, landholders, industry, and community groups aimed at supporting climate-smart, sustainable agriculture practices across Cape York Peninsula.

The SAF is responsible for the provision of extension services to the agricultural sector, to improve knowledge and uptake of climate-smart, sustainable agriculture practices including best practice natural resource management, practices that support emissions reduction and build climate resilience on-farm, and to facilitate the understanding of carbon and biodiversity markets.

The position is responsible for the day to day project management of the Sustainable Agriculture Facilitator Project held by Cape York NRM.

This position is part of a national network of Sustainable Agriculture Facilitators under the Climate-Smart Agriculture Program, funded by the Australian Government through the Natural Heritage Trust (NHT), for further information visit:

Under the guidance of the project leader, the SAF will also contribute to the Cape York NRM Climate Smart Sustainable Agriculture project and coordinate drought resilience activities in Cape York.
