Are you a skilled writer and digital strategist ready to take the lead on content for some of Sydney’s most vibrant community platforms?

Waverley Council is on the lookout for a Digital Content Officer to drive engaging and effective content across our suite of websites — including Waverley Council, Waverley Library, Waverley Cemetery, Second Nature and Hello Bondi.

This brand-new role is part of an exciting period of growth and modernisation in our Digital Customer & Data Team. You’ll bring strong writing, project coordination and stakeholder management skills, with a flair for digital content strategy and cross-platform alignment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver Council’s digital content strategy across multiple platforms
  • Create and manage engaging written content for websites and organisational outputs
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to plan and execute content
  • Ensure brand consistency across EDMs, websites and social media
  • Maintain content calendars and contribute to the overall communications schedule
  • Assist with web system administration and occasional freelancer coordination

What you’ll need to have for this role:

  • Minimum five years’ experience in digital content and/or web development.
  • Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders of interest and to appreciate competing points of view.
  • Proven ability to assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of effective communication, both external and internal.
  • Sound appreciation of the dynamic environment in which local authorities operate.
  • A positive approach to working cooperatively with others and within a team.
