About the opportunity
Southern Cross University’s Gnibi College of Indigenous Australian Peoples is seeking an inspiring academic to join our team as a Lecturer in Indigenous Knowledge. In this role, you will contribute to the design and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate programs focusing on Indigenous Knowledge and Indigenous business practices.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Delivering student-centred, high-quality learning across face-to-face, blended and online modes
- Undertaking curriculum development and embedding cultural knowledge into learning design
- Leading and contributing to research, publications and grant applications aligned to Indigenous knowledge systems
- Building and maintaining respectful relationship with Indigenous communities, Elders and stakeholders
- Supporting engagement, leadership and service activities that enhance Gnibi’s profile

About you
This is an Identified position, and in accordance with Southern Cross University’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment Strategy, only applicants who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander are eligible to apply.
- PhD qualification or significant progress towards completion
- Expertise in Indigenous Knowledge education and / or Indigenous business practices
- Strong track record (or emerging capacity) in academic research and publication
- Commitment to culturally safe education and respectful community engagement
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to foster strong community and professional relationships

Salary and benefits
Our staff benefit from flexible work arrangements, including hybrid work models, generous parental and carer’s leave provisions, wellbeing initiatives, employee assistance programs and professional learning opportunities. This position is Full-time, continuing (permanent), and located at Coffs Harbour, NSW, 2450.
- Academic Level B: $110,611 – 130,814 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $153,052.38.
