DSC is hiring!

Are you the Learning Designer we're looking for?

Every week, DSC's online learning reaches thousands of workers, helping them provide safe, compliant, high quality support to people with disability. We are now growing our team with an experienced Learning Designer to continue creating our sector-leading courses and help us take things to the next level. Could that be you?

What is the role?

This is a part-time role where you will work from home. In this role, you'll be an essential part of our On-Demand Learning team:

Oversee and contribute to new learning solution design and builds, defining the course structure, coordinating input from contributors like subject matter specialists, designer, content writer and expert reviewers

Write and edit learning content, applying adult learning principles to create courses that are best practice and lead to effective learning outcomes

Project manage our creation and revision schedule and the end-to-end creation process, keeping everyone on track to deliver new learning solutions on schedule

Analyse system and learner data and feedback to continuously improve effectiveness and relevance

Contribute innovative ideas for enhancing content, learner experience and engagement, and our online learning platform

Who would be a great fit for this role?

The ideal person for this role would be someone who has some or all of the below:

5+ years of experience in a learning design role or similar

A genuine passion for online learning and learning innovation

Ability to think creatively, with a tech savvy mindset and a keen eye for design

Experience building engaging learning experiences for adult learners (both for desktop and mobile use cases)

Experience working with Articulate360 (Rise), SCORMcloud, Moodle, Excel, Google Workspace, and AI applications

Proven project management capabilities including project planning, prioritising effectively, performing well under pressure, meeting deadlines, and successfully managing multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously

Ability to translate complex information into clear, accessible, and engaging learning content

Great collaboration skills to work effectively with contributors and specialists

Lived experience of disability and/or experience working in the disability sector

Application Process

To apply for the role, please email your CV and cover letter to [email protected] by Friday 4 July. Applications submitted via Seek will not be considered. Please include a cover letter that answers the following questions (you don’t need to write an essay - a few paragraphs will do!):

What excites you about the opportunity to join DSC?

How do your strengths and experience align with what we’re looking for?

What trends or innovations in learning design are you currently most interested in, and why?

The interview process has 2-3 rounds, including some hands-on tasks to make sure the role’s a great fit for both sides.

What’s on offer?

Pro-rata salary of $95 – $115 k.

Six weeks of annual leave every year pro-rata (that’s two bonus weeks on top of the usual four)

A generous learning & development budget to help you keep growing

Initial 12 month contract with possibility of extension

Work from home with flexible office hours

Join a dynamic, impact-driven team that does exceptionally good work (and has fun doing it)

We’re picturing the role at about three days a week but we’d rather shape the job around the right person. We are also open to engaging the right person via a contractor agreement if preferred.

If any of the details above don’t quite fit, we encourage you to apply anyway and have a chat about what would work best for you.

DSC's Values

We work with, not for.

We focus on what works best.

We are real people and we respect that you are too.

We challenge what needs to change.
