About the role
South West Healthcare (SWH) is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Psychiatric Endorsed Enrolled Nurse (EEN) to work alongside Clinical Nurse Educators (CNEs) and the Psychiatric Nurse Consultant (PNC) within Mental Health and Wellbeing Services (MHWS). This role will focus on supporting the development of specialist skills and knowledge within the EEN workforce, particularly for those transitioning into MHWS.
Position overview
- Employment Type: Part-time (64 hours per fortnight), Fixed-term position until August 2027
- Location: Warrnambool Campus
- Classification: Psychiatric Enrolled Nurse Level 4 (Educator)
- Salary Range: $100,739.60 pro rata, plus superannuation
This position is eligible for an incentive payment for rent, childcare, relocation costs and more, as part of the new workforce and incentive grants program administered by Rural Agency Workforce Victoria (RWAV) up to $10,000.
What you bring
- Registered as An Enrolled Nurse with the Nurses and Midwifery Board of Australia - Australian Health Professionals Regulation Authority.
- Provide evidence of medication endorsement and proficiency with administration within the scope of practice.
- Previous Experience as a PEN 3, or eligibility to be employed as a PEN 3.
- Desirable to have completed training in Preceptorship, mentoring or Clinical Supervision.
- Experience in working with individuals who have experienced problems such as; substance misuse, mental illness, psychological distress, intellectual disability, homelessness or other psychosocial stressors.
- Experience in working with persons who have Mental Health issues, in an acute treatment setting, community-based setting and PARC environment.
- A demonstrated knowledge of the relevant and current legislation and Frameworks relating to the consumer group including the Victorian Mental Health & Wellbeing Act 2022 is desirable.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
