Civil Drafter

JOCES is a civil engineering consultancy based in Parramatta, specialising in civil engineering design, flooding assessment, and Development Application consultancy services for Councils.

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Civil Drafter with strong skills in AutoCAD Civil 3D and preferably 12D to help deliver our civil design projects. This role will suit someone who wants to do more than just drafting someone ready to take ownership of their work, lead technical delivery, and grow with the business.

You’ll be working directly with senior engineers, delivering practical design solutions for Councils and private developers, and supporting younger staff as we expand.

Responsibilities

Produce and manage detailed civil design drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D and 12D.

Assist in drafting projects such as capital works projects, roads, pavements, subdivisions, OSD, drainage, WSUD, carparks, earthworks.

Work closely with engineers and clients to translate concepts into practical design outcomes.

Support junior team members and help maintain drafting quality.

Contribute to project delivery timeframes and quality standards.

Take ownership of your work and be part of shaping our design systems and processes.

Requirements

3+ years’ experience in civil drafting/design.

Cert IV or Diploma in Civil Design.

Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, and preferably 12D.

Strong technical knowledge of roads, drainage, stormwater, and subdivisions.

Able to work independently with a solutions-focused mindset.

High attention to detail and confident in checking your own work.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with engineers and stakeholders.

Full working rights in Australia.

Desirable Skills

Experience in a smaller consultancy or with local council.

Working knowledge of council engineering standards and Australian codes.

Familiarity with MUSIC, DRAINS, or TUFLOW a plus but not required.
