Clerk Grade 5/6 offering an attractive salary range of $97,027 - $107,059 per annum plus superannuation.

Who is the NICC?

The NSW Independent Casino Commission (NICC) is an independent statutory body, constituted under the Casino Control Act 1992. It exercises its functions independently of government departments and has a dedicated staff agency to provide administrative and advisory support. The NICC is a separate entity, though it remains connected to Liquor & Gaming NSW through the many delegated roles that undertake casino supervision on its behalf.

About the role

Are you an experience administrative and project professional with a passion for delivering high-quality administrative support? The Assistant Project Officer role is perfect for someone who is organised, keen to work in a high-profile environment, has good written and verbal communication skills, and wants exposure to the intricacies of casino regulation. In addition to preparing for board meetings such as uploading board papers and working on agendas, you will be responsible for providing administrative support before, during, and after meetings, record management and project support work across a range of regulatory programs and initiatives.

What you’ll be doing

As an Assistant Project Officer, no two days are the same. Some of the tasks this role will be doing include:

Providing administrative support to assist the NICC achieve its business objectives and exercise its functions.

Supporting the secure and confidential handling of NICC records and the management of the NICC’s record management systems.

Drafting clear and concise correspondence with stakeholders ranging from NSW government agencies to casino regulators across the globe.

Providing project and operational support, including monitoring and reporting on project plans, milestones and deliverables, to ensure time, cost and quality indicators are in line with approved project plans.

Undertaking basic research and analysis in assigned project areas and contribute to the preparation of project briefs to support informed decision making and planning.

Updating and collating documentation and records regarding relevant issues, policies and practices to ensure the delivery of projects complies with agreed project management methodology.

Demonstrated experience engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Sound communication and interpersonal skills.

An ability to take initiative to solve problems.

Sound program management practices and a good attention to detail.

Ability to work autonomously and manage your own workload while being flexible and adaptable in a fast-moving environment.

Essential Requirement

Demonstrated experience providing a range of project administration and/or secretariat activities.

Appointment and ongoing assignment are subject to satisfactorily meeting pre-employment and ongoing probity screening to meet the integrity standards set out in section 14 of the Gaming and Liquor Administration Act 2007 (GALA Act).

This role is designated as a key official under section 16 of the GALA Act.
