About the role

IDEA Innovative Disability Engagement Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a passionate and experienced Casual Disability Support Worker to join our team in Point Frederick NSW 2250 and Hamlyn Terrace Area. In this role, you will provide personalised care and support to individuals with complex care needs, with a focus on empowering and enabling them to live independently and participate in their community.

What you'll be doing

Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing

Provide support with household tasks like meal preparation, cleaning, and errands

Facilitate social and recreational activities to promote community engagement and wellbeing

Monitor clients' health and wellbeing, and report any changes or concerns to the team

Advocate for clients and collaborate with other healthcare professionals as needed

Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation

What we're looking for

Minimum 1 years' experience providing disability support services, preferably with a focus on complex care

Proven ability to provide person-centred care and support, with a deep understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by individuals with disabilities

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients and their families

Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to adapt to changing situations and client needs

Relevant qualifications such as a Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent

Current First Aid and CPR certification, and a valid driver's license
