Workfast is currently taking Expressions of Interest for qualified Mechanical Fitters to join upcoming works on Sydney Water infrastructure projects in Thornleigh. These trenchless tunnelling works will support the delivery of critical water upgrades across Sydney’s North West.

• Location: Thornleigh, NSW
• Shifts: 10–12 hour shifts (Day/Night rotation)
• Pay Rate: $51.00 per hour + OT + Super
• Job Type: Ongoing project work

This is an excellent opportunity to secure ongoing work on one of Sydney’s major tunnelling and infrastructure upgrades, with strong pay and development potential.

Project works are scheduled to commence in mid-July 2025.

What You Will Be Doing

• Installing and maintaining mechanical components in tunnel infrastructure
• Fitting, assembling, and servicing tunnel equipment and machinery
• Assisting the tunnelling crew with general labouring and mechanical support
• Entering and working in confined spaces as required
• Operating from elevated work platforms when needed
• Participating in equipment relocations and system installations
• Following all safety procedures and completing a respirator fit test prior to site start

What You Need

• White Card – essential
• Mechanical Fitter trade qualification – essential
• Confined Space Entry ticket – essential
• Elevated Work Platform (EWP) ticket – essential
• Working at Heights ticket – Essential
• Must pass a Respirator Fit Test (mandatory requirement)
• Experience in tunnelling, civil, or infrastructure environments – highly regarded
• Physically fit and able to work 10–12 hour shifts (Day/Night)
• Team player with a strong safety-first mindset
• Flexible to work day and night shifts
