Cleaner – Residential Aged Care

Our client, a well-established aged care facility on Keilor Downs is seeking a dedicated and reliable Cleaner to support the overall hygiene and cleanliness of a residential care service. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who is passionate about maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for elderly residents.
You’ll play a key part in maintaining high cleanliness standards and ensuring a respectful and dignified environment for all residents.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean approximately 25 beds per shift, including deep and quick cleans depending on daily needs
• Perform general and deep cleaning across bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, dining areas, and common areas
• Dust mopping, damp mopping, vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, and spot cleaning glass and windows
• Empty bins, clean kitchen areas, and maintain hygiene across communal spaces
• Operate domestic and industrial cleaning equipment including vacuums, polishers, scrubbers, and washing machines
• Ensure all equipment is maintained and in good working order
• Understand and respect residents’ rights, dignity, and privacy regardless of their physical or mental condition

Skills and Abilities

• Strong understanding of hygiene and infection control standards
• Ability to operate and maintain cleaning equipment safely
• Good physical stamina to manage a physically demanding role
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly
• Sensitivity to the needs of older people and a commitment to providing respectful care
• Ability to follow procedures and adhere to health and safety guidelines
• Proactive attitude and willingness to learn new processes and procedures
