Our valued client a long running family company involved in the recycling industry is looking to hire a mechanically minded yard manager to assist in day to day operations.

Duties

Loading trucks and hoppers with forklift and loader.

Assisting maintenance personnel to to diagnose, repair and maintain mobile and fixed plant like, Crushers, Chippers trommels, screens, loaders and bagging equipment.

Refueling equipment

Liaising with contractors for repair and ordering parts and equipment

Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, daily logs, incident reports, pre-start checklists, daily running sheets

Ensuring safe work practices are followed by all personnel including, wearing required PPE and completing risk assessments

Must be easy to get along with and have a can do attitude and a willingness to take ownership of the role

Hours

5.00 am to 1:30pm Monday - Thursday and 5.00 am to 11.00 am Friday. (very much base hours OT where required to help keep plant running maybe some Saturdays required depending on work load)

The responsibilities of these roles include, but are not limited to:

Operating a front-end loader

Operating forklifts, loading trucks, moving product around site

Loading shipping containers with conveyor stacker and monitoring quantities being loaded

Refueling of machinery

Ensuring safe work practices including, wearing required PPE, risk assessments, injury, and incident reporting and other WHS requirements

Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, daily logs, incident reports, pre-start checklists, daily running sheets as required by the project and company standards.

Repairing diesel powered equipment on breakdowns

Preventative maintenance

Working with production plant maintenance crew when required

Stocktaking and ordering of parts & material

Organising contractors for repairs
