Lead excellence in food and nutrition—shape better health for aged care and hospital patients across the Limestone Coast.

Are you a passionate and experienced dietitian ready to take your next step in leadership? Do you want to influence aged care and hospital food services across an entire region, ensuring quality nutrition, patient satisfaction, and system-wide improvement?

Limestone Coast Local Health Network (LCLHN) is seeking a Senior Dietitian – Food Services to coordinate and lead best-practice dietetic services across our Residential Aged Care (RAC), Multi-Purpose Service (MPS) facilities and regional acute care sites.

This role is your opportunity to make a lasting difference by advancing nutritional care, championing quality standards, mentoring the next generation of professionals, and leading change that benefits patients, residents, and families alike.

As the Senior Dietitian – Food Services, you will:

Lead, coordinate and evaluate high-quality food and nutrition services for aged care and acute settings across LCLHN.

Provide strategic advice and expert consultation on nutrition care aligned with National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards and Aged Care Quality Standards.

Collaborate closely with Speech Pathologists, Clinical Dietitians, Catering Teams, and Nursing staff to ensure safe, person-centred food and nutrition delivery.

Champion food service quality improvement initiatives, including recipe development, menu planning, and hydration strategies.

Provide clinical supervision and leadership to less experienced dietitians and allied health assistants.

Support education and training for staff, students, and stakeholders in nutrition-related practices.

Represent dietetics in key committees and working groups, including Nutrition and Hydration working parties.

Drive change through research, evaluation, and evidence-based practice.

  • Work across SA Health aged care facilities in the Limestone Coast region.

What we're looking for:

To succeed in this role, you’ll be a collaborative, forward-thinking clinician who blends strategic insight with compassion and professionalism.

A recognised qualification in Dietetics, eligible for practising membership with Dietitians Australia.

Extensive experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating food and nutrition services in aged care and acute settings.

Proven ability to lead, supervise, and mentor others—especially early-career staff and students.

Strong skills in clinical governance, documentation, auditing, and service planning.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams and to advocate for quality food services.

Understanding of community engagement principles, with a commitment to person- and family-centred care.

Cultural competency and the ability to support inclusive nutrition service delivery.
