Job Details

The federal government department is seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Senior Cloud Engineer to support the ongoing development, security, and optimisation of our cloud-based infrastructure. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the performance, resilience, and compliance of our cloud environments, with a strong focus on Microsoft 365, Intune, and Azure platforms.

This role requires a strategic thinker who can work autonomously, prioritise tasks effectively, and provide expert advice on cloud architecture to support our transition towards a more secure, stable, and simplified environment.

Key duties

• Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performing cloud infrastructure solutions across Microsoft 365, Intune, and Azure platforms.

• Monitor, manage, and optimise cloud environments to ensure performance, availability, and compliance with relevant security and regulatory standards.
• Implement and maintain robust security measures, contributing to a secure and resilient cloud posture aligned with government frameworks.
• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support, including advanced troubleshooting and resolution of complex cloud and infrastructure issues.
• Deliver strategic advice and contribute to the development of cloud architecture roadmaps that support organisational goals for security, stability, and simplicity.
• Work independently with minimal supervision, exercising sound judgment in prioritising tasks and managing competing demands in a dynamic environment.
• Stay current with emerging cloud technologies, tools, and best practices, and apply this knowledge to continuously improve service delivery and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Proficiency in cloud platforms such as M365, Intune, and Azure.
• Experience in providing level 2 and 3 support, including troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, networking, and security.
• Experience with automation tools and monitoring systems.

Due to the nature of the role the applicant should be an Australian citizen with AGSVA security clearance or has the ability to obtain it.
