Our client is a large NSW government department that provides extensive education services
While they embark on a 2 year upgrade program to implement SAP S/4HANA there is a need to backfill SAP operational resources. This is a large scale environment that has 150,000 employees on payroll
Role Description:
The SAP HR ESS MSS Consultants will be responsible for managing and resolving incidents while providing expert support to ensure the successful delivery of system changes, enhancements and projects related to the Department’s SAP HR Payroll systems.
The roles will work closely with HR stakeholders, the Payroll Operations team and Shared Services HR to implement functional designs, assess operational impacts and support ongoing process improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, implement and support SAP ESS/MSS services across School and Corporate systems.
- Investigate and resolve production incidents providing 3rd evel support.
- Collaborate with functional and technical teams (e.g., Portal, Fiori, ABAP, Workflow) to ensure system stability and support.
- Assist in blueprinting and functional design of SAP ESS/MSS services; aligning with business processes.
- Conduct comprehensive testing for all ESS/MSS changes and enhancements.
- Provide expert guidance on SAP ESS/MSS functionality, system enhancements and best practices.
- Analyse and resolve production issues related to self-service applications.
- Deliver technical support and strategic advice to end users and business stakeholders.
- Develop, manage, and execute test scripts for ESS/MSS quality assurance and regression testing.
Essential skills
- Proven experience within the NSW Public Sector; with a strong understanding of SAP self-service frameworks and HR practices.
- In-depth knowledge of SAP Workflows, Fiori, Portal and ABAP debugging for issue resolution.
- Extensive experience with SAP HR Forms and Processes
- Proficiency in SAP Leave Management; with expertise in the BRF framework and rule configuration.
- Experience in data extraction, cleansing, migration and support for audit requirements.
- Strong understanding of Personnel Administration, Organisational Management, Spinifex reporting and third party system interfaces.
- Knowledge of SAP Security roles relevant to ESS/MSS and SDS services.
- Experience with SAP Concurrent Employment (CE) - managing employees in multiple positions.
- Proficiency in using an ITSM for incident and demand management, and issue tracking.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing SAP support stack upgrades, support pack enhancements and associated testing.
- Familiarity with Presence of IT tools including POP Copy and Verification Tools, for environment and data integrity.
- Working knowledge of Change Management processes; ensuring proper governance and risk mitigation.
- Experience with test planning, execution and defect tracking. Ability to develop test scripts, perform unit testing and support integration and user acceptance testing.
