The Organisation
Our client is a Canberra based, diversified construction and property development group that has been operating for almost 25 years. In that time it has established itself as a group focussed on delivering quality and great value that has resulted in long-term partnerships with their key stakeholders. As a result it has a strong pipeline of work into the future.

The Role
Following the resignation of their incumbent CFO to relocate interstate for personal reasons, the group are now looking to recruit a new leader of the finance function to:

• help continue the ongoing growth and success of the company; and
• continue to provide a contemporary financial management function.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director and key member of the senior management team and an active participant at the Board level, as well as managing a small but highly qualified and capable team, you will take responsibility for the development, implementation and monitoring of the company’s financial performance and strategy. This will include:

• Timely and accurate financial and management reporting
• Budgeting and Forecasting
• The provision of financial analysis and insights on feasibilities and project/company performance
• Cash flow management
• Presentation of financial reports to the Board
• Ensuring compliance with best practice systems and controls
• Management of the relationship with the external accountant and auditors, banks and insurance providers
• Oversight of accounts payable and receivable and payroll functions

About You
You will be CA or CPA qualified and have significant experience in a senior financial management role whether as a CFO or as Deputy (or equivalent) who is ready to take the next step in their career.

You will demonstrate the highest levels of trustworthiness/integrity; have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; as well as be highly driven and able to work autonomously. You will also be able to lead by example to develop a strong and cohesive financial management and operations team.

Your ability to ensure the finance function is operating in a contemporary and best practice manner will be critical.

Experience within the construction or related industries will be highly regarded.
