The Client
Our client is a leading mid-tier accounting firm based in the CBD who are seeking to employ a motivated, pro-active business minded individual. A continually growing client base, led by proactive partners that has evolved and requires an Assistant Manager level person with 5+ years' experience to assist in its client relationship management and ongoing growth.
The main focuses of the role are:-
Client Focus
- Maintain trusted relationships with a portfolio of clients and family groups, establishing yourself as a valued and active contributor to their financial wellbeing.
- Act as an initial point of contact for business advisory and management reporting queries on behalf of the firm, ensuring their prompt acknowledgement and response.
- Facilitate client meetings in a manner that demonstrates genuine curiosity, a desire to listen and learn about the client’s financial circumstances and communicate with clients in a manner that ensures they understand the information being shared.
Advice
- Preparation of financial reports, income tax returns, FBT returns, activity statements and work papers
- Preparation of file notes, special purpose reports and correspondence to the ATO
- General bookkeeping duties
- Set-up of new structures, statutory registrations and related documents
- Cash flow and monthly management reports
- Undertake research and analysis to ensure an accurate understanding of the latest legislative developments and that they are correctly applied.
- Work in consultation with senior members of the business to provide strategic advice to clients.
- Display an up-to-date knowledge and ability to perform a range of duties correctly and accurately in relation to business advisory, tax accounting and management accounting services, including and not limited to:
Management
- Manage WIP and turnaround of work performed, ensuring all business advisory and management reporting jobs are completed fully, correctly and within budget.
- Effectively manage personal diary and schedule client review meetings as required.
- Create and maintain compliant client files, ensuring that the internal database accurately and consistently reflects the latest client information.
- Work in collaboration with the Practice Manager to develop templates and processes in relation to management reporting and business advisory, which are reflective of a whole of business approach and integrate with other internal business processes.
- Allocate and oversee the accurate and timely completion of basic accounting tasks by the businesses outsourced provider.
- Liaise with third party providers as necessary to gather client information and/or inform them of changes to the client’s financial circumstances.
Qualifications/Experience/Skills needed:-
- Bachelor of Business in accounting, commence or finance
- CA qualified (preferred)
- Proven ability to competently perform a range of tax, business advisory and management accounting tasks of varying complexity autonomously
- Demonstrated ability to keep the client front of mind at all times
- Proficient knowledge of relevant tax legislation, state and federal legislation and statutory regulations within Australia
- Demonstrated research and analytical skills
- Proven ability to efficiently perform a range of competing priorities
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment
