About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Proficient Fire Protection as an Electrical Manager – Projects & Estimating. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for overseeing the electrical aspects of construction projects and providing expert estimating services. Based in Melrose Park, SA, you will play a key part in the success of the company's operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management

Coordinate and manage electrical projects from start to finish

Schedule work and purchase required materials

Co-ordinate FIP orders, ASE applications, and SAMFS bookings/commissioning

Attend site meetings and liaise with builders/clients

Submit RFIs and Variations as required

Design & Engineering

Oversee the design of dry fire systems (e.g. Fire Panels)

Ensure all designs meet relevant standards, codes and specifications

Compliance

Ensure all electrical work complies with current standards and codes

Stay up to date with relevant industry regulations

Documentation

Manage commissioning documentation and upload to manuals

Prepare block plans, baseline data and cause & effect sheets

Complete OHS documentation for builders/clients

Quality Control

Ensure electricians are trained and capable across both projects and service divisions

Provide additional training as required

Learn wet side of operations to support broader team management

Estimating

Estimate projects and large service jobs (e.g. FIP changeovers)

Team Leadership

Oversee project and service workload to maintain efficiency

Support after-hours callouts and installations when required

About You

Licensed electrician with solid leadership or supervisory experience

Strong understanding of electrical systems and dry fire solutions

Confident managing projects, coordinating teams, and ensuring compliance

Excellent communication and organisational skills

A natural leader who enjoys mentoring and developing others
