Home Care Assistance Gold Coast

Position purpose:

Service Objectives:

To ensure effective management and compliance of federally funded Home Care services based on the Values of Our Organization the Aged Care Quality Standards (2019) and the Aged Care Act (1997).

· Provision of ethical and responsible services that meet internal and external compliance standards to Home Care recipients.

· Quality management of federally funded Home Care services offered by brokerage agreement franchisee partners of Our Organization

· Build the capacity of our Organization to build and maintain compliance in preparation for changes to funded programs in 2024 and beyond.

· To embody Our Organization’ Mission and Values through Home Care services.

Key tasks:

· Support the functions of the Organization in relation to compliance.

· Support the function of the Organization through the preparation of accurate reports and recommendations to strengthen the quality of services offered.

· Lead and guide staff to meet external regulatory requirements.

· Support and provide guidance to the Clinical Team and Care Partners

· Gather (at times collect), collate, and analyse data from a variety of sources for presentation to Reference Groups, Committees, and the Governing Body.

· Provide recommendations to the Board to strengthen quality and compliance through data quality, policies, and procedures.

· Prepare Reports for internal and external bodies on quality measures and activities of our Organisation.

· CI register and management of all projects on it.

· Oversee the management of Complaints and Incident registers as well as ensuring each case is managed and closed.

· Care Partner compliance checks

· Keep self-assessment tool up to date.

· Keep up to date with compliance/regulation changes across all bodies (e.g.: Aged, Disability, DVA etc)

· Suggest training to ensure compliance with changes to legislation, working with HR.

· Clinical Policies and Procedures management (working with clinical lead)

· Manage QCABs ensuring compliance with terms of reference.

· Manage SIRS complaints.

· Manage 5 key risks Reponses, ensuring they are complete and updated to reflect the current approach of the service.

· Conduct dummy audits to identify continuous improvement activities.

· Manage complaints made to regulatory authorities and manage them to closure.

· Contact for regulatory authorities for any contact that does not require Director to respond.

· Fulfil other duties as required by management and other department personnel as requested/required

Required qualities:

· The RN/Compliance works in collaboration with all teams and the Director. They are responsible for managing their time, planning and organisation of their work to meet Key Performance Indicators.

Desired competencies:

· High level communication skills, both oral and written.

· Ability to build rapport and trust with staff and managers.

· Ability to function independently and exercise necessary professional judgement.

· Ability to maintain a positive work environment.

· Demonstrate empathy with clients and their carers.

· Proficiency in the management of data from a variety of sources.

· Proficiency and accuracy with data analysis and presentation.

· Good time management skills, flexibility, and an ability to set goals; prioritise tasks and work under pressure.

· Understanding of internal and external quality standards and the ability to modify practices as standards change.

· Previous experience working in process driven environment and complaints handling

Qualifications:

· Bachelor of Nursing and AHPRA Registration

· Understanding of quality standards, strategies, and improvement processes.

· Understanding of financial and statistical reporting requirements.

· Computer skills and knowledge of office software packages (MS Office) and the ability to learn propriety databases.

· Familiarity with internet use and email.

· Experience in a similar capacity with skills that are transferable to the Australian Aged Care environment.

· Current National Police Check (within 3 years).

· Current NDIS workers check.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $57,148.08 – $95,000.00 per year
