MAINTENANCE FITTER AND TURNER – Scenic Rim

The full-time position of Maintenance Fitter and Turner is based at our manufacturing facility operating 24 hours 7 days a week at Josephville, located south of Brisbane.

About the Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Foreperson, duties will include, but are not limited to:

Undertaking mechanical breakdown repair of site plant and equipment (including ‘on-call’ roster).

Conducting preventative maintenance on site plant and equipment.

Installation of plant equipment and machinery.

Maintaining records relating to plant and equipment, including equipment details and spare parts identification.

Make recommendations regarding plant, equipment, and procedures, which contribute to improvement in safety, efficiency, quality, and financial outcomes of our operation.

About You

The successful applicant will be able to cope with a varied workload, be a good team player with a proactive attitude, be responsible and reliable, and be able to prioritise and take ownership of all tasks given. The candidate must be professional and courteous as well as adopt a flexible approach to their work.

The successful applicant will also be trade certified in Mechanical Engineering – Fitter and Turner, while previous work experience in a manufacturing or food production environment would be advantageous. In addition, competencies or knowledge in the following areas would be highly regarded:

Machining and lathe experience.

Pump and valve repair and replacement.

Strong understanding of WH&S systems.

Ability to troubleshoot mechanical equipment.

Advanced welding skills with Mig, Tig welders.

Food grade welding experience (highly advantageous)

Working knowledge of boilers and steam distribution (highly advantageous)

Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.

Strong interpersonal communication and time management skills.
