The City of Melville is seeking an energetic and motivating Run Coach to lead safe, professional, and engaging running sessions as part of our LeisureFit Athletic Program. This role is perfect for someone who lives and breathes running from supporting beginners finding their pace to helping seasoned runners smash their next PB.
Location: LeisureFit Booragoon
Hourly Rate: $48.98 to $62.68 + 11.5% super
Position Type: Casual
What you’ll be doing:
Delivering structured running sessions to both Junior and Adult participants as part of the LeisureFit Athletic Program
Assisting in the design and development of running-based programs that support various fitness levels and goals
Creating a positive, inclusive, and inspiring training environment
Encouraging safe participation and correct running techniques to reduce risk and improve performance
Promoting the LeisureFit Athletics Program, including run-specific content for social media
Liaising with internal teams and community partners around all things running and fitness
Monitoring equipment and safety standards, reporting any issues promptly
Assisting with admin tasks linked to the program and tracking participant progress
Using First Aid and CPR skills when required, as part of maintaining a safe training environment
What you’ll need:
Essential:
Current Applied First Aid Certificate
Current CPR Certificate
Working With Children Check
Coaching badge or relevant experience in Running
Strong communication and customer service skills
Confidence running sessions independently and collaboratively
Desirable:
Development Coach Accreditation (e.g. with Athletics Australia or TriathlonWA)
Experience coaching groups in running (track or road)
Ability to adapt training for different ages and abilities
Knowledge of safe training practices and fitness equipment
Austswim qualification (if cross-training is offered)
