Position Purpose:
The Communications Support Officer plays a key role in supporting the delivery of effective communications and stakeholder engagement across Western NSW Primary Health Network (WNSW PHN).
This position is responsible for assisting in the coordination of internal and external communications including events, digital and social media, and campaigns and newsletters. Working closely with teams cross the business, the Communications Support Officer will ensure timely and consistent messaging, help maintain stakeholder databases and promote community engagement through targeted campaigns. The role also supports internal staff communications and upholds organisational standards in branding, health promotion and cultural safety.
Selection Criteria
Essential
· Demonstrated experience in communications, public relations, or a related field, with proven ability to support the delivery of communication strategies and campaigns.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience in drafting content for a range of channels such as social media, websites, newsletters, and event materials.
· Proficiency in using digital media tools and platforms, including social media scheduling, analytics tools, and content creation software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar).
· Experience in event coordination and stakeholder engagement, with the ability to manage logistics, registrations, promotional materials, and communication related to events.
· Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments, while also managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines.
· High-level attention to detail and organisational skills, including maintaining accurate records, contact databases, and supporting internal reporting processes.
· Capacity to travel within western NSW; hold a current driver’s licence.
Desirable
· Experience working in the health, NGO or community services sectors
· Experience in working with Aboriginal people, organisations and communities in view of planning and implementing services and achieving outcomes for Aboriginal people.
