A global fintech company who are is seeking proven leader to head a Platform Engineering team across the APAC region. This is a hybrid leadership and hands-on role, ideal for someone passionate about building high-impact systems that drive performance, safety, and scalability at the core of a global trading environment.

Based in Sydney CBD in a hybrid working environment.

The role:

• Shape the strategy and technical roadmap for production engineering across a global platform
• Lead a high-performing engineering team in a business where tech is the backbone
• Combine technical depth with people leadership and strategic influence
• Collaborate closely with global teams across Europe and the US
• Work on meaningful, complex challenges in a fast-paced, high-performance environment

Key responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers focused on production systems
• Own the systems, standards, and workflows that power software deployment and runtime operations
• Drive technical improvement, reduce complexity, and enhance system scalability
• Balance hands-on engineering with architectural direction and stakeholder engagement
• Align regional efforts with global production practices

Your skills:

• Significant experience in software engineering, especially at scale
• Python, CI/CD
• Strong leadership background within infrastructure, platform, or DevOps-style teams
• Deep understanding of modern software systems, deployment pipelines, and production operations
• Ability to simplify complex environments and enable fast, safe delivery
• Worked on high-performing systems
