We are looking for an experienced Mental Health Clinician to join our team in Bega, working with the Sapphire Health and Wellbeing Service (SHaWS) and our Aboriginal Health team. About us Grand Pacific Health (GPH) is a for-purpose community-based organisation. GPH provides high quality health services to assist people in the management of their physical and mental health. GPH’s mission is to provide equitable heath care with an emphasis on helping vulnerable and at risk of disadvantage populations as well as regional communities. GPH employs over 400 staff including many qualified health and other professionals including peer workers and community workers. GPH operations cover a large regional geographical footprint in NSW and ACT. About the position The Mental Health Clinician will work collaboratively with consumers and their family/carers to identify their support needs, goals and develop collaborative care plans. The position provides high quality biopsychosocial assessment, care coordination and evidence-based, focused psychological interventions to consumers. The multidisciplinary mental health team facilitates a holistic and collaborative approach to care which addresses a broad range of social, physical, and emotional needs. We have a part time opportunity available (30 hours per week), fixed term until 30 June 2027 with possibility of extension. About SHaWS SHaWS is a primary health, mental health, Aboriginal health, drug and alcohol treatment and support service led by Directions, working in collaboration with Katungal Aboriginal Medical Service and Grand Pacific Health and a number of medical practices on the Sapphire Coast. Based in Bega and Eden, the service also provides visiting services to Wallaga Lake, Bermagui, Merimbula and other townships within the region. The service offers free, non-judgmental and respectful services including assessment, counselling, case management, therapeutic and support groups, home detoxification support, crisis support, assistance entering and exiting residential rehabilitation services and support for family members and friends impacted by substance use and/or mental health. We are looking for someone with:
- Current AHPRA registration as a registered psychologist, clinical psychologist, or provisional psychologist, Mental Health Nurse or occupational therapist (accredited in mental health),
or accreditation (or working towards) with the AASW as a mental health social worker
or Clinical Registration with PACFA or the ACA. - Demonstrated ability to engage with consumers and their families, friends, or carers to undertake assessment to determine care needs and provide care coordination and referral support
- 3.Demonstrated skills and experience in providing holistic, evidence-based therapeutic supports
- 4.Excellent interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills and ability work as part of a team as well as independently
