Lifestart Disability Services is an Early Childhood Partner, delivering the NDIS Early Childhood Approach across the Eastern Suburbs and Southern Districts. We work in partnership to empower children aged 0-9 years and their families, building their capacity so they have the tools to reach their full potential.
With a background in allied health or social work, you will serve as a key worker (non-clinical), supporting families who have concerns about their child's development through the NDIS Early Childhood Approach.
This position is offered as a maternity leave cover until February 2026, and works flexibly in a hybrid model, including working from home, at our offices in Malabar and Miranda, within client homes, at preschools, schools and within other community-based settings.
Key Responsibilities
Known as an Early Childhood Coordinator, you will be:
overseeing a caseload including preparing reports and related activities for your allocated families, while ensuring strict adherence to NDIA pre-defined timeframes and associated requirements
conducting observations and assessments of children in their natural environments to assess their functioning and support needs
assisting families to develop goals for their child that reflect individual goals and priorities
implementing short-term early intervention strategies to support the child's development
providing information and supporting families to access mainstream and community services as required, to support their needs, and those of their child/children
managing and coordinating referrals to appropriate services, ensuring smooth transitions and continuity of care for the child
participating in community capacity building initiatives and supporting mainstream service providers to become accessible to those with developmental delay or disability
working within a transdisciplinary team, sharing experiences and expertise, collaborating with others to ensure a holistic approach to early childhood intervention
You will bring:
Degree qualification in Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Social Work or similar
Experience supporting children with additional needs and using person-centred approaches
Knowledge or experience of early childhood intervention supports and concepts
Proficiency writing detailed reports, and adept at using computers including MS suite and CRMs
Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, working collaboratively with clients, community, and internal departments
Knowledge of disability, the NDIS and Early Childhood Approach
Mandatory role requirements include:
Aligning with Lifestart’s values of Empowerment, Equity, Collaboration and Impact.
Hold a current Drivers Licence and registered vehicle, and able to travel across Southern Districts & Eastern Suburbs
Currently have (or willing to obtain) NDIS Worker Check, Working with Children clearance, criminal history checks
Full COVID-19 vaccination (including booster) or eligible medical exemption
