About us:

At Coastal Auto and Marine Electrics, we prioritize building and maintaining strong relationships with our loyal clients, a commitment reflected in the fact that majority of our work comes from repeat business. The remainder from referrals. Our technicians are highly regarded in the marine industry for their dedication, strong work ethic, and pride in craftsmanship. We are a team that values quality, reliability, and long-term partnerships.

About the role:

We are currently seeking a qualified Auto Electrician to join our team. While marine experience is not required, we’re looking for someone who brings a strong work ethic, adaptability, and professionalism to every task.

In this role, you’ll be expected to work both independently and as part of a team. Each job is unique, demanding forward thinking and strong problem-solving skills. Jobs range from small diagnostics to full electrical fit-outs and complete rewires, offering a wide variety of non-repetitive, interesting work — no two days are the same.

Our clients’ boats are often their second homes — personal spaces that reflect who they are. As such, we’re looking for someone who is respectful, tidy, and takes pride in maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Attention to detail and care in every aspect of your work is essential.

Duties:

Installation of Electrical Systems- Install, test, and commission electrical systems.

Maintenance and Repairs - Perform regular maintenance and troubleshoot faults in electrical components.

Diagnostic Testing- Diagnose faults in electrical systems, ensuring vessels operate safely and efficiently.

Upgrades and Modifications- Upgrade existing electrical systems to meet new specifications or improve performance.

Compliance and Safety Checks - Ensure all electrical systems comply with marine safety regulations and standards. Conduct safety inspections and report potential hazards.

Documentation and Reporting- Maintain detailed records of electrical repairs, installations, and inspections. Provide reports to vessel owners, insurance assessors, and regulatory bodies when required.

Technical Advice and Support - Provide expert guidance to clients on electrical system design, maintenance schedules, and energy-efficient solutions tailored to vessel requirements. (Over time you will acquire the knowledge)

Educate- Continue to educate yourself on new products, standards ect. Guide and educate apprentice technicians.
