The Role
Working in our team of Concreters in our Works unit, you will:
- Maintain the City’s infrastructure assets including concrete footpaths and drainage works
- Be responsible for the maintenance, repair and replacement of concrete footpaths, concrete drainage pits and pipes and other concrete structures
- Be responsible for the efficient execution of a wide range of maintenance tasks including, drainage, concreting, paving, asphalting and earthworks and having special regard to customer requirements and cost
- Safely and efficiently operate a range of plant associated with maintenance and construction activities, which may include concreting equipment, trucks, excavator, backhoe and skid steer.
- Maintain quality standards of the work performed
- Ensure the routine servicing of plant equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation
This role works a 9 day fortnight (RDO) with standard hours Monday – Friday 7am to 4pm and every second Friday finishing at 3:30pm. Our depot is based at Adam Street, Golden Square where you will travel out to site to service the City of Greater Bendigo area.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Knowledge and skills in concreting, general road maintenance and civil construction
- Experience in the safe use of concreting equipment and/or driving of trucks, excavator, backhoe, skid steer
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a safe and efficient worksite with knowledge of OH&S principles & practices
- Good communication skills – both verbal and written
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and positively in a team environment
A current worksite traffic management and traffic controller’s certificate is desirable.
A satisfactory police records check, drivers licence with MR endorsement and construction induction card are required for this position.
