Public Sector People is proud to be partnering with the City of Sydney to recruit a resilient and analytical Contract Portfolio Manager. This high-impact leadership role will see you guiding the end-to-end contract lifecycle across some of the city’s most significant civil infrastructure, traffic operations, electrical maintenance and structural maintenance programs.

About the Role:
Reporting to the Infrastructure Delivery Manager, you will be a central figure in overseeing the sourcing, procurement, onboarding, relationship management and offboarding of a major portfolio of contracts—ranging from short-term engagements to billion-dollar infrastructure partnerships.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading contract strategy, development, and performance across Business Unit’s portfolio.
• Providing expert guidance to executives, stakeholders, and delivery teams on sourcing, procurement, and compliance
• Managing commercial risk, governance, and value-for-money outcomes in a highly regulated environment
• Writing comprehensive reports, leading audits, and improving quality assurance and corporate systems
• Building collaborative, cross-functional relationships with contractors, consultants, executives, and internal teams

What You’ll Bring:

• Tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience in civil, construction or asset management procurement
• Demonstrated success in managing high-value, complex contracts within government or infrastructure environments
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills across diverse stakeholder groups, including senior executives
• Strong analytical mindset with the resilience to navigate competing priorities and drive outcomes
• A record of delivering strategic procurement improvements, supporting systems, and mentoring internal teams
