Your opportunity
The Caboolture Veterans’ and Families’ Wellbeing Hub is our site dedicated to welcoming Australian Defence Force Veterans and their families. The Hub provides integrated support to current and ex-service personnel and families.
This is achieved by offering a multiservice suite for veterans, which includes health and mental health services, well-being support, RSL-based advocacy, employment and housing advice, social connection, and access to counselling and support.
The hub is operated by Lives Lived Well, a not-for-profit organisation providing support for people in Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia with concerns related to alcohol and other drugs, mental health, transitioning from corrective services, veterans’ wellbeing, and gambling.
About the role
This is a dynamic and varied role where no two days are the same. As part of a drop-in service, client appointments can fluctuate based on daily demand, requiring flexibility and responsiveness. You will be part of a small but impactful team dedicated to delivering service programs and fostering strong relationships to ensure veterans and their families can access tailored support.
As the Senior Wellbeing Case Manager, you will provide high-level customer service and support through comprehensive initial assessments and the development of individualised wellbeing plans. These plans address a wide range of needs, including transitioning from the defence force, employment, financial stability, housing, health, advocacy, family relationships, social connections, and cultural reconnection.
In addition to direct client work, you will offer clinical supervision and mentoring to clinicians, manage intake processes, and oversee client allocation. A key aspect of the role involves building and maintaining active partnerships with local providers across the health, community, education, and training sectors to ensure veterans and their families receive integrated and responsive support services.
The gross salary for this role ranges between $106,379 to $111,094 per annum plus super and salary packaging. The salary on offer will be commensurate with the successful candidate’s skills, knowledge and experience.
What you’ll bring
To succeed in this role, there are some essentials you’ll need:
- A tertiary degree in social work, psychology, occupational therapy, or nursing.
- Relevant lived experience or experience working with veterans and their families and/or close connections with veteran programs and knowledge of the issues facing current or ex-service personnel.
- The ability to undertake initial screening activities and comprehensive bio-psycho-social assessments.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting assessments, case coordination and complex case management with vulnerable people from diverse backgrounds (e.g. homeless, mental health, AOD, CALD including First Nations and or people with a disability).
- Knowledge of mental health, evidence-based interventions, and clinical practice.
- High levels of self-awareness and the ability to adjust your communication style to suit your audience.
- An ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanour when supporting clients who may be experiencing crisis or are vulnerable, including maintaining appropriate boundaries.
- Friendly, warm, relatable and a non-judgemental attitude towards others.
What matters most is that you’ll live and breathe our values, which means:
- You are humble, human and full of hope.
- You show up and share.
- You ask: Why not? And what’s next?
- You leave a positive wake.
We believe that through these values, we do our best work - for each other, for veterans and their families, and for the communities we work in. And it’s a promise we make to you about the kind of experience you will have working for us.
Why work for Lives Lived Well?
Well, it’s about people, purpose, impact and growth. We think you’ll love working with our talented people across services that are as diverse as the communities we work in.
