About the role
We are seeking a professional with significant management experience to lead our team in the effective and efficient financial administration of the legal assistance scheme under the Legal Aid Commission Act 1976.
The Chief Finance Officer (CFO) is also the Chief Procurement Officer. Reporting to the Director Business Services, with direct access to the Director of Legal Aid (CEO) and Board, the CFO will have a proven track record delivering quality, responsive and accurate financial planning, financial administration, budget management, facilities management, reporting and procurement services at a senior level. As a senior member of the organisation, the CFO will embrace and exemplify our values.
Working collaboratively with the Board, CEO and Executive Management Team, the CFO will support strategic and operational planning to ensure the financial sustainability of the organisation, and provide advice on the financial, business and procurement implications of policy decisions under consideration, while managing risk and ensuring compliance with relevant obligations. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills are crucial to this role as is the ability to manage government accountability requirements and motivate the team to drive the performance and availability of services.
About you
The successful candidate will:
· Have current membership of:
- CPA Australia as a CPA; or
- Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand as a Chartered Accountant; or
- The Institute of Public Accountants as a member of the Institute of Public Accountants.
· Have capabilities aligned with the role description, as outlined above and detailed in the attached Job Description; and
· Demonstrate alignment with the Legal Aid WA values
